Another Round of Thank You's

Many thanks for my Entrecard advertisers from April 21 to April 30, 2010:

Have a great day everyone!

TGIF!!!

Yes, it's Friday.

It's gonna be a long weekend for all my friends in the Philippines because May 3 was declared as a holiday in lieu of May 1 (labor day) that will fall on a Saturday. Thanks to GMA's holiday economics.

I don't understand why other people criticize that. Truth is, every worker would love a long weekend.

When I was still working, I don't care what the holiday is for, all I'm after is that I'll be having a break from work. Yeah, it's an apathetic attitude but that's what corporate slavery does to you. LOL!

Thanks to my hubby for saving me. Now, I'm enjoying a no pay, everyday holiday schedule. Oh, on second thought, I do get paid - with lots of joy and love. I'm such a contented stay at home wife and mother, sigh!

My Adgitize Drop Tool

A friend of mine, Dave Lucas, asked me how I was able to have my first adgitize payment in such a short period of time. My other blogger friend Feron even thought I invested something in Adgitize.

I didn't invest any money on Adgitize but I quickly accumulated my earnings by blogging religiously - that is writing posts and bloghopping.

Unlike in Entrecard where you have to drop cards on sites to earn EC points, you need to visit sites in Adgitize by clicking through ads to earn publisher points. To aid me in my adgitizing, I came up with my Adgitize Click Tool - links of sites with adgitize ad slots located on the top part of the page. With this tool, I won't feel like a detective looking for that mystery ad space.

If you want to check it out, here's the link: Adgitize Click Tool.

Looking For More Online Income Sources

I've been blogging for more than a year now but it's more of a past-time for me. I discovered only lately that I can earn some income from it. Not the get rich quick type of earnings - just enough to buy myself a little something.

Tomorrow, I'll be posting my total income earned online on At Home at Georyl. And updates about my future earnings will be posted there too.

What I'm concerned now is finding more income opportunities online. I've checked on sites related to paid surveys, pay to click, paid reviews, online microjobs and other websites but when I search for users feedback on Google, most of them have negative reviews.

I would appreciate it very much if you can suggest a good income opportunity for me. I can even sign up as your referral! The only condition is that it should be free - no membership fees please.

The Back-up Plan Movie Link

The Back-up PlanWould you like to watch the movie The Back-up Plan? It's a romance-comedy movie that stars Jennifer Lopez.

Last night I watched the movie online via Awooh and here's the free link if you want: The Back-up Plan. Unlike other sites, it doesn't have pop up ads and there's no need to download anything.

Just sharing.

The Sisterhood Award

Yey! The Twitterer has received a new blogging award and this time it's called the Sisterhood Award. I would like to thank Ria of Ria's World for giving this to me. By the way here's the badge for the award:

Here are rules for this meme:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate up to 10 blogs which show great Attitude and/or Gratitude!
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.

I would have shared this blog with all my blogger friends but as the term suggests, only female bloggers (I think) are eligible for this award. Sorry guys, that's girl power on the web.

I'm sharing this award to the following female bloggers who had made my blogging experience more enjoyable and exciting:

Go sisters!!!

Unblocking the Blogger's Block

The blogger's block is back!

Just when I was so excited to start on another blog, I again found myself staring at the screen with nothing in mind as to what I'm going to write. If you have noticed, lately I was updating this blog every other day only.

Thanks to Dave Lucas for suggesting some topics I could write about. Hopefully, I can again start writing something worthwhile (LOL) here at The Twitterer. Since my new blog is about family, homekeeping, personal finance and other concerns of a stay at home mother and wife, I can now explore other topics to write about here.

Speaking of the new blog, have you come across it yet? It's At Home With Georyl. If you have time, kindly visit it now and post a comment on any article. Mention that you read the link here at The Twitterer. First 5 commenters mentioning The Twitterer will get 100 Entrecard credits!

Suggestions are also welcome.

Thank You!

I would like to thank my following EC friends for advertising here at The Twitterer from April 9 to 17, 2010:

Greater Love - A Tides of Truth Novel by Robert Whitlow

Greater Love (Tides of Truth, Book 3)Greater Love is the third book in the Tides of Truth series of Robert Whitlow. It is about a young lawyer named Tami and her passionate pursuit of truth in matters of life and the law.

A legal novel, love story and a book about faith rolled into one. If you don't mind reading a novel on a first person's point of view, you'll find this novel as a good read. I suggest that you read the first two books though because there are times when you feel that you missed something - probably, a character's background earlier mentioned in the first two books.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 : “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

The Wordpress Switch Updates

Well, not really switch. I am using Wordpress in a new site and I must admit, I am having a hard time because I am not a computer geek. I learned how to edit Blogger templates through time mostly by trial and error. Now, I'm faced with the task of learning Wordpress.

There were some delays in the launching of my new site. First, the template I wanted (Genesis Lifestyle Child theme) is not for free. Although I was able to find some free downloads for it, a fatal error message shows up whenever I install them. It's really hard to use pirated copies.

I finally settled on a theme yesterday. Although it is not a magazine styled theme (which was what I originally wanted), I find it easier to use because it didn't require a lot of codes. A great template for a Wordpress newbie like me.

Now I can focus on writing articles.

Oh... and creating my banner too. I need a 125 x 125 banner.

Happy blogging everyone.

To My Disabled Blog EC Droppers: Thank You!

I would like to thank the following Entrecard droppers who loyally dropped their EC cards on Moneywise, my other blog which was disabled by Blogger last April 4. Since I cannot access that blog anymore (and create a thank you post there), let me say, through this blog, kudos to all of you who were able to EC drop on a disabled blog.

The Wait and See Period

Remember the story My First Blog Disappeared Like Bubbles Into Thin Air? Well, after her ordeal with her vanishing house, the main character decided to engage in a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Arrangement with a company named GoDadi. Somehow, the idea appealed to her because it has quite flexible terms - and since she's just starting, she opted for the short term scheme. Although not for free, she still took it because she realized that "security" is priceless.

After the contract signing, she was given a lot of papers and documents to arrange. Being used to the free community where she'd been, the paper task was quite overwhelming but she said that she can do it. She prides herself in being a fast learner and promises that she'll have her new business up and running soon.

For now, let's just wait and see although I'm hoping that she'll announce the opening of her venture soon.

Wanna bet on how long that "soon" is?

A New Twist in My Blogging Adventure - Everything For Free

In my previous post, I had said that I already have something in mind on where to spend my Adgitize earnings of $11.67. Add to that my earnings from Triond and I can now get my own domain - and web hosting for it too. I'm trying Wordpress for the new site but The Twitterer will stay at Blogger.

I'm so excited for this new site because I had convinced Daddy G to contribute a post every now and then. Since he usually leaves comments worthy of a full page article whenever he reads articles on news websites, he might as well share those thoughts with my blogger friends and reader.

There's also an interesting twist - I gained not only a contributor but an investor as well. Everything will be like free Blogger because Daddy G's gonna pay for the cost related to the Wordpress switch. Yey.... lucky me!!! That means free domain name and web hosting!!!

I will be sharing the new site's link to all of you when it's ready. Right now, it's still under construction. I just finished picking a template and will start writing a few articles in preparation for the "official launching".

Many thanks to Sheila of The Ad Master and Teen Suicide Talk, Evan's Mom of A Little Boy's Blog and Feron of Beyond Feron for taking the time to answer my queries and for the advices.

Happy Sunday everyone!

My First Adgitize Payment!!!

Yesterday, I had received an e-mail from Paypal informing of a payment sent to me by Adgitize. I was so excited to check it out considering that I received this amount only by clicking ads and posting in my blog.

Here's the note that went with the payment:

Thank you for being a Publisher/Affiliate in the Adgitize Ad Network. This is payment for March 2010 Affiliate services and / or accumulated months as a publisher showing Adgitize Ads. Thank you, Ken Brown, Adgitize
Adgitize Publisher Payment March 2010

The amount I received was $11.67 USD! I already have something in mind as to where to use it but I'll just discuss it in another post. Right now, I just want to say thank you to Mr. Ken Brown - both for the payment and for coming up with the idea of Adgitize. Kudos!

If you're still not part of Adgitize, I encourage you to join now. It definitely is not a get-rich-quick scheme but if you're into blogging, it just makes your blogging a rewarding experience. Try it now.

My First Blog Disappeared Like Bubbles Into Thin Air

Here's the scenario: You happen to pass by a community with this slogan by the entrance "Free Lots". Now, who would pass up on that chance, right? After inquiring at the office near the gate, the man in orange uniform says they are really offering their lots for free. You can put up whatever you want on it: a bungalow, a mansion, a villa, a shopping market - it's all up to you. You won't pay a cent for it.

It's a new neighborhood and you don't know if it's worth investing your time and money so you decided to just put up a simple nipa hut. It seemed good enough and so far, it looked like things are ok.

After a while, you met a few neighbors who became constant visitors. The simple hut was no longer enough to accommodate them so you expanded into a mansion and decorated it with those decorations you've searched from all over - just to make your house more presentable and welcoming.

As time went by, your popularity grew that even people whom you don't personally know passed by your house just to see some of your stuffs. You even created a small store to sell some stuffs that your visitors might like, for souvenir perhaps?

One day, you went home and was shocked to see that your house was missing. In front of you was a vacant lot with a signboard that says "The house you were looking for is not found."

You went to the community office with the intention of speaking with the guy in the orange uniform. He's not there but there's this note addressed to you stuck at the door that says "Your house is a fake house so we took it down. You're just using it to house your mutual admiration society club!"

Still dumbfounded, you went back to your house to see if you can salvage anything but there was nothing. Not even a trace.

Your friend named Google said he had some pictures of the house - but they were only by the doors that you can't even see what's inside. You realized that posting a "Read More" sign by the door was a mistake. If only Google was able to get a picture of the whole room (and not just the doors), maybe you could somehow manage to salvage a few things.

This scenario happened to me - and my blog Bloggista Info Corner. It just vanished because Blogger said it's a spam blog. Imagine the time, effort and money I invested for that blog which at the time of it's deletion had a Page Rank of 3. I don't even have a back-up of it.

It's so frustrating!

It's so depressing!

Am I wrong for putting all my efforts into something that was free?

My Guest Post at Dave's Blog and Entrecard Advertisers List

Guest Post at Dave Lucas's Blog
Care To Leave a Comment? That's the title of my guest post at Dave Lucas' blog which was published yesterday on his blog. It's my thoughts on leaving comments on blogs and was inspired by my joining Harriet's Comments Challenge last month. Hope you could check it out.

Entrecard Advertisers
I would like to recognize and say thanks to the following Entrecard sponsors of The Twitterer from March 26 to April 8, 2010.

Many thanks for your continued support to this blog. It's one of my inspirations to do better in blogging - (and the effort paid off because Google gave me a PR3 ranking just three months after I started this blog).

Have a nice day everyone!

Do You Want Free E-Drops on Your Site?

Some things that seem bad are sometimes just blessings in disguise.

You know why?

Bad news: My other blog, Money Wise, has been disabled by Blogger in April 3. I already requested for its restoration but so far, it still wasn't restored. My friend, Lee, already prepared a lot of new posts for it during the long weekend but it can't be accessed till now. Too bad.

Now, here's the good news: it's still receiving a considerable number of entrecard drops even when it's disabled. Isn't it nice? I think even if Blogger disabled it for a month, it will still get drops.

Do you want free e-drops on your site too?

PS. I'm not proposing something illegal here. LOL. Just drop on those sites that can drop even when a blog is disabled and probably, they'll drop back to your site day after day after day. That's free drops, right?

Gearing Up For the Baby Reader

I'm a bookworm - I love reading. I had a collection of Bible Story books when I was in pre-school and when I was in elementary, my favorites were Sweet Valley High and Nancy Drew. Exposure to books when I was young contributed a lot to my love of reading.

Last night, while I was updating my Kindle Store, I decided to buy some books for Baby G at Amazon. I really want to expose her to books while she's still young but I can't buy books for her here because they are written in French and/or Arabic. Since we'll be visiting Philippines in June, I decided to buy just a few books then do the book shopping in the Philippines. (I'm already excited to visit the National Bookstore!!!)

With a budget of just $40, I started searching for board books in Amazon. Here are the books that I've chosen:

My Big Animal Book (My Big Board Books)Big Board Books Colors, ABC, Numbers (Bright Baby)Curious George Bigger and Smaller Lift-the-Flap Board BookThe Going-To-Bed BookCounting Kisses: A Kiss & Read BookHead, Shoulders, Knees and Toes (Baby Board Books)Baby Bible Storybook for GirlsGoodnight Moon

All these eight items total to just $35.62 with the following breakdown:

Subtotal of Items: $39.55
Shipping & Handling: $10.92
4-for-3 Promotion: -$3.93
Super Saver Discount: -$10.92
------
Total for this Order: $35.62

Because I chose to avail of the Free Super Saver Shipping, I have to wait for 5 days to a week for the books to arrive. But, awww... I can't wait!!! Right now, the only book I'm reading to Baby G is this book which was given to us by an officemate of Daddy G.
Toes, Ears, & Nose! A Lift-the-Flap Book

It's a flip-the-flap book and Baby G enjoys it. She sometimes gets so excited that she almost tore one of those flaps. Scotch tape time, mommy??? LOL!

Anyway, have you tried ordering books online, too? Can you suggest other baby books to me because I really find it hard to decide on these books just by reading their product descriptions. We could compare notes once Baby G's books arrive.

Thanks and have a great April ahead!

April Surprise: Page Rank 3!!!

Yes!!! Barely three months after "The Twitterer" was started, this blog already gained a Page Rank rating of:

No, this is not an April fool's day joke. I learned from an article in Bogcess' E-Pera blog about the update in the Google Page Rank of some of his blogs. I tried checking The Twitterer's rating out of curiosity and, alas, it jumped from Page Rank 0 to Page Rank 3! I checked out my other PR3 blog (Money Wise) and it still maintained it's PR3 rating. Wow, I'm glad to be a PR3 blog maker!

Thanks to all of you who supported my blog. I know I can't make the PR3 at such a short period of time without your help and constant visits. I'll try to come up with better posts that will make your visit here more entertaining, enlightening and uplifting.

I am requesting you to also visit Money Wise, formerly Bloggista Info Corner. My friend (Lee) recently did some make-over but I still remain as a contributing writer to the blog. It's now focusing on personal finance, business/entrepreneurship and making money online.

Happy blogging everyone. Love and light!
