Out of the Loop - Once Bitten, Twice Shy!

UPDATE: Loops are GOOD! Click the little widget directly below my EC widget!

Peeps! Yours truly received a message through entrecard the other day:

"...in the spirit of Entrecard Terms of Service I would like to Thank You for keeping your Entrecard Widget near the top of your page making it easy for a laptop user to drop without having to scroll.

In light of that, I would like to invite you to join an exclusive Loop Of Entrecard Sites that a drop surfer can quickly and safely drop on without having to scroll and without having to open ten sites at once.

Check it out here http://xxx and if you are interested send me your info and Get In The Loop."

I responded indicating my interest and then got this message back:

"Hello Twitterer,

Thanks for your interest in The Loop.

Did you want to join The Loop, if so, you will need a surf button under your drop button.

You can get it here http://xxx

Let me know and I'll get you in The Loop right away."

ALARM BELLS!
If / When you visit the website you may (or may not) notice THIS:

"NO GUARANTEE OF INCLUSION"
I joined something like this before. After a few days, the twitterer was no longer on the list. I rest my case.

Entrecard Not Working

"Serious error

We have a bug in our software, an automatic report has been sent to our developers and more whips are being applied as we speak. We apologise for the inconvenience."

Perhaps this is the "beginning of the end" for the entrecard initiative?

PR2? Really?

Image borrowed from Harriet: hope it's okay for you, sis!

:( I noticed the twitterer's PR is now at a gruesome "2" down from "3" so I checked with a very computer-savvy gentleman who told me the reason why: "It's stuff like that Music Monday feature. You may love the memes, but they are big-time blog killers."

Now I must decide what to do! He also recommended deleting some of the sidebar features.

Pounds, Dollars, Troubles

50 Cent has reportedly made an impressive £5.5 million in one day on Twitter (USD$8.7 million), by telling his followers to invest in a company he owns shares in. But the rapper could be in for some very troubled times ahead!

Liz Hurley, Lily Allen Targeted in Twitter Crackdown

UK celebs Liz Hurley and Lily Allen are among stars who may have breached Office of Fair Trading rules if they endorsed products for cash without declaring an interest.

Endorsements are big business in the US, but adverts must carry a notice saying the message was paid for.

Lily, 25, who has more than 2.5 million followers, made references to PlayStation and Grey Goose vodka last year.

Liz, 45, recommended an Estee Lauder moisturizer to her 66,000 followers.

Mommy Marketing

Despite their lightweight moniker, mommy bloggers have become marketing business heavyweights. Now said to number in the millions, these online women have cobbled together content networks that rival some mainstream media companies. And they're clearly a force that retailers underestimate at their own peril. ~ AdAge

Ever wonder how advertisers try to figure out how to appeal to mommiebloggers like us? Here's a clue:

Unlike traditional advertising and promotions, which offer myriad ways to reach the consumer, the online space is on hyper-drive. Low barriers to entry and tech-savvy citizens across the globe offer up new marketing tactics on a daily (perhaps hourly) basis.

And that target Alpha Mom gets savvier and savvier, one day focusing her energy on original content, the next on product reviews. She's setting up a Facebook page, becoming a regular player on game sites, recording podcasts and setting up her own YouTube channel. And, in the meantime, new social media moms pour into the blogosphere and social media space.

So, that's how they think about us!

The Future In More than 140 Characters

Hi Twitterati!

It seems I'm taking over "The Twitterer" at a unique moment in Twitter-history. The microblogging service is still struggling (as in not making any money) and in a way that's good, because I'm struggling too! My goal is to carry on the wonderful tradition of "The Twitterer" while making the blog into a virtual "rest stop" on the internet!
@parsonslynn offers tips on making money with twitter!
Twitter has evolved from a start-up trying to attract users to a household name. With 145 million registered users and $160 million in venture capital, Twitter has been increasingly shifting its focus to figuring out how to earn revenue.

"We're not profitable right now. The specific thing I say over and over is that we've got plenty of time to grow. We're not worried. The profits will come." - Twitter COO Dick Costolo, on CNN

So what's the team up to? For starters, Twitter has hired two new sales executives as it beefs up its revenue plans. I was wondering if there might be a way Twitter could make more use of the celebrities it attracts. There may be no reliable way to make money off Twitter yet, but Lady Gaga surpassed Britney Spears over the weekend as the tweeter with the most followers.

In My Search For Online Contests...

In my search for online contests to join, I got in touch with an online friend who'll be holding a contest next month. And guess what happened, instead of looking forward to something I could win, I found myself pledging to sponsor some cash prize. LOL!

No, the amount's not even in the two digit mark. I specifically told her that anything more than that will be made in I.O.U.s - after I cash out my earnings probably at CMF Ads or received my next earnings at Adgitize.

Speaking of Adgitize, I forgot to mention that I again received $11.38 from them this month. My previous earnings of $11.67 was paid in April. I also received my earnings (gift card) from Amazon as well as a few additional books from Booksneeze. I guess it's time to update my post about my online earnings as of April 2010.

I also joined a paid to write/blog site and so far, I have earnings of $10 just for a post. Isn't that cool? I still haven't checked the minimum cash out level but will inform you all how it will go once I already receive my first payment from them.

Anyway, if you're wondering about our escapades during our month long vacation in the P.I., feel free to check out my other blog. I already posted an entry about my parasailing experience in Boracay - posted some pics too.

Happy weekend everyone!

Looking For More Online Income Sources

I've been blogging for more than a year now but it's more of a past-time for me. I discovered only lately that I can earn some income from it. Not the get rich quick type of earnings - just enough to buy myself a little something.

Tomorrow, I'll be posting my total income earned online on At Home at Georyl. And updates about my future earnings will be posted there too.

What I'm concerned now is finding more income opportunities online. I've checked on sites related to paid surveys, pay to click, paid reviews, online microjobs and other websites but when I search for users feedback on Google, most of them have negative reviews.

I would appreciate it very much if you can suggest a good income opportunity for me. I can even sign up as your referral! The only condition is that it should be free - no membership fees please.

My First Adgitize Payment!!!

Yesterday, I had received an e-mail from Paypal informing of a payment sent to me by Adgitize. I was so excited to check it out considering that I received this amount only by clicking ads and posting in my blog.

Here's the note that went with the payment:

Thank you for being a Publisher/Affiliate in the Adgitize Ad Network. This is payment for March 2010 Affiliate services and / or accumulated months as a publisher showing Adgitize Ads. Thank you, Ken Brown, Adgitize
Adgitize Publisher Payment March 2010

The amount I received was $11.67 USD! I already have something in mind as to where to use it but I'll just discuss it in another post. Right now, I just want to say thank you to Mr. Ken Brown - both for the payment and for coming up with the idea of Adgitize. Kudos!

If you're still not part of Adgitize, I encourage you to join now. It definitely is not a get-rich-quick scheme but if you're into blogging, it just makes your blogging a rewarding experience. Try it now.
