Cooking with the twitterer: Pepper Pie!

Ingredients

* 3/4 pound lean ground beef
* 1 cup sweet red peppers
* 1 cup green peppers
* 1/3 cup ketchup
* 1 large onion, chopped
* 1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms (toss the water)
* 1 cup shredded very sharp Cheddar cheese
* 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie


Directions

1. Place peppers, including liquid, into blender or food processor; use "pulse" setting or lowest speed possible until peppers are in very small pieces.
2. Brown meat and onions. Add peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. Spoon into bottom crust. Cover with top crust; seal the edges.
3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until crust is brown, and pie is heated through.
4. Don't overeat! ;)

My family surprised me with a simple V-day dinner, filled with love! Here's a pic of the table with the appetizers in place. The main course was Roast Duck, with Pumpkin Apple Sweetheart Cake for dessert (2nd pic - almost looks like a duck with fruits sprinkled on, LOL!), but I was too busy stuffing myself to continue snapping photos! Tomorrow it's off to Hong Kong for R&R with family and friends, and I doubt I'll have a chance to post, so enjoy your week, peeps!

Rihanna To Perform At 2011 NBA All Star Game & Announces LOUD North American Tour

Off the success of her now platinum selling album LOUD, Rihanna will be performing at halftime of the 2011 NBA All Star Game in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, February 20th. Other performers that will be a part of All Star Weekend, which begins on Friday, February 18th include Keri Hilson, Bruno Mars, Josh Groban, Melanie Fiona and Cali Swag District. Meanwhile, following up her 45-date European tour you can catch RiRi on the North American leg of her LOUD tour. The first seven dates have been announced (more dates to be announced soon) for the summer tour which begins in June, with tickets going on sale Valentine’s Day at LiveNation & Ticketmaster, check them out below.

Arabic language tweets have been appearing on twitter for some time now. UPI reports that the US State Dept. is now tweeting in the Arabic language: @USAbilAraby, which means "USA in Arabic," had 300 followers by Wednesday afternoon.

"Would-be buyers" continue to circle around Twitter with reports that both Google and Facebook are interested in purchasing the microblogging service ..: The estimated valuation of between $8 billion and $10 billion put on Twitter by some potential suitors points to the increasing froth in the tech sector. Executives at both Facebook Inc. and Google, among other companies, have held low-level talks with those at Twitter in recent months to explore the prospect of an acquisition of the messaging service. The Sowambe Awards

I've been to Africa several times in recent years and received SMS today from peep Shanna regarding the Sowambe Awards. I wasn't familiar with them but soon saw mention on my mobile's twitterfeed.

Nominations are on through February 10 with voting to follow February 15 to February 28. Winners will be announced on March 1. Here's a linky!

Cole's ignorant, insensitive post drew angry responses from fellow-twitterers worldwide, an anonymous tweeter seeking to make light of the situation has opened a spoof account called KennethColePR.

Google launched and update that may radically affect the amount of search engine traffic your blog or website gets. They're calling it a minor update to their algorithm, but it has already had a major effect on some sites. 8 Days ago I mentioned on Hacker News that a site that was scraping the popular StackOverflow was ranking higher than them - by republishing their content. Well Google has updated their algorithm and the scraper site's traffic immediately plummeted by about 90%. The day-over-day drop is 40%. I'm not a fan of sites that steal content, but ouch!!

EGYPT: Connected By A Thread

Over the weekend, peeps from Twitter, Google and SayNow, a Palo Alto CA firm that Google bought last week, joined forces and launched a service allowing anyone with access to voice service -- landline or mobile -- to leave a messsage that automatically gets transmitted into a tweet, so says the Google blog. Those unable to access Internet and/or mobile services in Egypt may dial up +16504194196 or +390662207294 or +97316199855. Tweets from the call are sent with the hashtag #egypt.

Things went from bad to worse Monday as Egypt's last remaining Internet access provider, The Noor Group, vanished from the Web, placing "Egypt's Net on life support," according to a blog post from Renesys, a New Hampshire company that monitors Internet performance around the world.

Several Chinese websites, including online portals Sina.com and Netease.com, as well as China’s Twitter equivalent Weibo, have blocked the word “Egypt” in keyword searches, the New York Times reported Monday.
